Development of a research workshop on data collection and wildlife monitoring in the Osa Conservation Area (ACOSA) and Guanacaste Conservation Area. Costa Rica.
Summary.
The research workshop was able to give advice and create a monitoring plan for wildlife conservation in the Osa and Guanacaste Conservation Areas in Costa Rica.
It is very important to carry out these research workshops, to create databases that rangers can obtain and analyze. Since the information obtained will be used for decision-making in the management of the resources they protect.
Thanks to the workshop rangers were enabled to create a database on the life and flowering cycles of 5 important tree species within two conservation areas. As well as strategies to take data from traces of mammals in protected areas
Another important point that was achieved with the workshop was to motivate staff. On the importance, they have as individuals directly in the conservation of natural resources.
